Service Desk Analyst Position Summary The MSU IT Service Desk
provides technical support to the MSU community via phone, email
and chat support. Hours of operation are from 7:00 a.m. to midnight
everyday the University is open. Reporting to the MSU IT Service
Desk Manager, the IT Service Desk Analyst provides first-level
contact and resolution for a wide range of technical topics for
students, faculty, and staff. Although the Service Desk is located
in and primarily serves MSU's main campus in East Lansing, MI,
University partners and colleagues from all over the world rely on
the IT Service Desk Analysts to quickly and accurately resolve or
route requests, problems and incidents. Michigan State University

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills Knowledge equivalent to
that which would normally be acquired by completing a 2 year
degree; one to three years of related and progressively more
responsible or expansive in an information technology area related
to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of
education and experience. Desired Qualifications ITIL v3/v4
Foundations certification; HDI Support Center Analyst
certification; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with
all levels of technology users and leadership; strong writing and
verbal communication skills; high level of customer relationship
skills; attention to detail; ability to contribute to a high
