Position Summary(Basic Job Function)This is a temporary or on-call position. Provides support for concerts, sporting events, outdoor functions and related University special events. Duties may include working at an assigned station in a concession stand; preparing and dispensing refreshments; transporting, maintaining and arranging supplies, equipment and materials; operating a cash drawer; assisting with parking enforcement; acting as an event usher; and similar event related responsibilities. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.Unit Position SummaryTransforming Theatre Ensemble (TTE) uses brief theatrical sketches in a workshop setting to provide an interactive learning experience that engages faculty, staff, student and community audiences in collaborative problem-solving lead by a skilled facilitator. TTE sketches, which range in length from three to fifteen minutes, are centered on themes related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.This is an "on call" position, meaning there are not set hours. Actors are scheduled for rehearsals and performances based on their availability. An actor may be cast in 1-6 performances a year depending on demand and the actors' availability. When cast in a particular performance, actors are typically called for 1-4 hours of rehearsal prior to that performance. Depending on actor availability, rehearsals might be held during the day, evening, or on weekends.$20.00/hr. for rehearsals and memorization.$40.00/hr. for performances.Please contact Artistic Director Lynn Lammers with questions: lammersl@msu.edu.Desired Qualifications

  • Acting experience in theatre or film.
  • An interest in social justice.
  • Strong capacity for line memorization.
  • Ability to take direction/acting notes and adjust performance.
