EngineerPosition SummaryThe Networks team is responsible for new
service design, development, testing, verification, and deployment
of the network as well as drawings and documentation.Reporting to
the Network Planning and Operations Manager, the Network Engineer
will be responsible for monitoring network performance and
capacity; ensuring system availability and reliability; managing
various devices and services such as routers, switches, Access
Points, Authentication Servers, DDI Servers, Wireless Controllers;
maintaining systems software (upgrades including service packs,
patches, hot fixes and security configurations); providing Level-2
support and troubleshooting to resolve issues; working within
established configuration and change management policies to ensure
awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network
infrastructure; working with users and other personnel for problem
resolution; preparing and delivering training for colleagues and
customers; and taking part in on-call duty rotation during
off/non-business hours.Michigan State University (MSU) is a top 100

Specific Education/Experience/SkillsKnowledge equivalent to that
which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college
degree program; three to five years of related and progressively
more responsible or expansive work experience with monitoring,
network diagnostic and network analytics tools; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.Desired Qualifications+
Network certifications a plus+ Strong knowledge of networking
protocols like TCP/IP, 802.11, 802.1x, DHCP+ Experience working in
networking at a higher education institution+ Extensive experience
in wireless networking+ Experience in identity-first or
