This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working both onsite at the Headquarters 2 building in East Lansing and remotely. A schedule of expected onsite and remote workdays will be discussed during the interview process.

Deposit Operations Employee:

Assist members and employees in a timely, friendly, professional manner, and support the Credit Union's mission through a variety of communication channels
Demonstrate adaptability and positivity when faced with complex situations
Analyze, research, and resolve member concerns and discrepancies
Utilize knowledge, judgment and Credit Union procedures to protect members and the Credit Union from loss
Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, responsibility, and dependability
Understand and comply with regulations relating to financial products and services
Maintain members' privacy by protecting their personal information
Educate current and prospective members about Credit Union products and services
Follow safety and security procedures regarding emergency situations, third party access to secure areas, and communicate suspicious activity to management
Manage time efficiently and take initiative within the department; seek opportunities to develop or enhance knowledge
Actively participate in training activities within the department and with the Credit Union's training department to ensure compliance with Credit Union policies and state and federal regulations and laws
Actively participate in Credit Union initiatives and promotions to achieve assigned goals
Perform other duties and assist others, as assigned

Services Specialist I:

Perform all of Deposit Operations Employee essential duties and responsibilities Assist members and employees by answering product and service questions relating to shares and account services with support from others while utilizing appropriate resources
Perform account related research for employees and members with the appropriate sense of urgency
Sort, distribute, and process department mail
Process microfiche
Prepare and send Credit Union mailings
Work a variety of reports with support from others

Services Specialist II:

Perform all of Deposit Operations Employee and Services Specialist I essential duties and responsibilities
Assist members and employees by answering questions related to research requests
Assist members and employees by answering basic product and service questions with support from others, while utilizing appropriate resources
Take ownership of, and process, complex research requests with urgency
Process basic member transactions while reviewing accounts for opportunities to build relationships by offering Credit Union products and services that benefit the members
Work a variety of reports; ensuring accuracy
Contact members by phone to clarify details of research requests or securely verify details of member requests for transactions such as ACH originations or wire transfers
Conducts an ongoing review of the current processes and procedures for account research to improve efficiencies for members and employees
Identify and communicate research related training opportunities

Account Specialist I:

Perform all of Deposit Operations Employee, Services Specialist I, and Services Specialist II essential duties and responsibilities
Assist members and employees by answering product and service questions relating to all share and specialty account types with support from others, while utilizing appropriate resources
Provide members and employees assistance with the completion of specialty account transactions and account set-up with support from others
Utilize the IRA and HSA Service Centers to process member requests
Process new account and VISA applications with support from others
Review all Deposit Operations paperwork for accounts opened at the Credit Union to ensure accuracy and the required documentation has been provided
Handle escalated member situations with support from others and take appropriate action to resolve them
Explain the Dormant and Escheat processes to members and employees, correspond with members to avoid escheatment and assists members in reclaiming their funds from the State of Michigan; work associated reports
Serve as a resource regarding W-8 BENs and W-9s; work various reports to ensure that coding and reporting is accurate; send correspondence to members to ensure forms on file are updated; educate employees regarding regulations pertaining to Social Security numbers
Provide support to Credit Union employees, while identifying and communicating training opportunities to management
Work a variety of reports; ensuring accuracy and identifying ways to improve processes and efficiencies

Account Specialist II:

Perform all of Deposit Operations Employee, Services Specialist I, Services Specialist II, and Account Specialist I essential duties and responsibilities
Assist members and employees by answering product and service questions relating to all share and specialty account types while utilizing appropriate resources
Provide assistance to members and employees regarding complex specialty account transactions
Process new account and VISA applications independently
Process IRA transfer and rollover requests, completing correct forms and coding accounts accurately
Handle escalated member situations and take appropriate action to resolve them
Take ownership of, and process, complex specialty account transactions in a timely manner
Assume risk and utilize lending limits commensurate with level
Work in collaboration with other departments of the Credit Union to ensure escheated funds are reported and sent to the State of Michigan per regulation
Conduct periodic review of new accounts and shares to ensure compliance; analyze the decision making process and assist in the development of Credit Union employees
Conduct an ongoing review of the current account processes and procedures of the Credit Union to look for efficiencies for members and employees
Assist Credit Union partners with specialized account programs
Process all garnishment and levy warrants in accordance with State law; communicate with the member and provide the appropriate disclosures to the court, attorneys, and member
Serve as the liaison for the Credit Union with Shared Branching; collaborate with other departments of the Credit Union to resolve any system problems, and work with the Shared Branching representative to report and correct issues
Administer the check ordering program; work closely with other departments of the Credit Union and vendor to resolve any system problems, and to ensure information on The LOOP and web site is accurate; review invoices for accuracy and ensure timely payments
Create, write, publish, and maintain CU Info documents for Specialty Account related topics
Assist the Credit Union's training department as needed to ensure training material and guides are current; ensure CU Info documents are current

Accounts Coordinator I:

Perform all of Deposit Operations Employee, Services Specialist I, Services Specialist II, Account Specialist I, and Account Specialist II essential duties and responsibilities
Assist members and employees by answering product and service questions relating to all share and specialty account types, teaching others to do the same
Assist members and employees with the completion of specialty account transactions, teaching others to do the same
Assist members and employees by answering Deposit Operations questions pertaining to regulations, including tax implications and contribution limits
Share advanced knowledge of Deposit Operations, teaching others to do the same
Review specialty account documentation provided by members for other departments of the Credit Union; offer guidance on how to process complex requests
Perform corrective reporting by correcting IRS records in the system and producing new forms for members and the IRS
Receive and process death claims with support; work with other departments as necessary to ensure all aspects of the accounts are handled properly
Handle escalated member situations and take appropriate action to resolve them, teaching others to do the same
Assume risk and utilize lending limits commensurate with level, teaching others to do the same
Lead and actively support others through trainings, decision-making, and risk assessment
Conduct compliance and regulation research to ensure existing and new products, services and documentation meet current and pending requirements
Assist with maintenance and updating of an Intranet page on the Loop for the purpose of informing employees about Deposit Operations and anything share related, changes to current procedures, and other pertinent information

Senior Accounts Coordinator:

Perform all of Deposit Operations Employee, Services Specialist I, Services Specialist II, Account Specialist I, Account Specialist II, and Accounts Coordinator I essential duties and responsibilities
Foster a positive environment while engaging and motivating others to achieve personal and department goals
Support Credit Union direction, helping others understand the purpose
Receive and process death claims; work with the Credit Union's attorney when necessary to ensure proper handling of the account and collaborate with other departments of the Credit Union when necessary
Conduct account reviews to ensure accounts are properly reporting to the IRS in the defined timeframe
