Job DescriptionTitle: Communications SpecialistReports To: Marketing and Communications ManagerLocation: East Lansing, MI Department: Sales and MarketingSET SEG is looking for an enthusiastic individual for this entry level position. This individual will work closely with the Communications Strategist to create communications that promote the mission of SET SEG and help achieve organizational business goals. This role will assist in the creation and maintenance of numerous communications across different delivery channels while maintaining a consistent voice and message. Written marketing material for all SET SEG companies is expected to engage, educate, inform, inspire, and attract various audiences. As part of this position, this individual will transform complex information and business priorities into simple, yet impactful messages. This position reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager.   • Assist in developing communications that accomplish specific goals, such as inspiring action, promoting a service, educating around an industry hot topic, etc.
  • Create communications for multiple mediums to tell stories and bring business priorities to life
  • Create, proofread, and modify written communications, including emails, magazine articles, blog-style content, website content, social media posts, talking points, presentations, handouts, informational resources, etc.
  • Assist in brainstorming and production of promotional and corporate identity materials
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Marketing and Communications ManagerRequired Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related discipline
      • Ability to connect an audience with a story and segment content according to audience
      • Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines
      • Must possess a strong, detail-oriented mindset, able to meticulously identify and correct small errors in punctuation, spelling, or grammar
        • Ability to work collaboratively with members of the Marketing team and other departments
        • Possess high emotional intelligence to interpret and anticipate needs and execute them independently
        • Possess a passion for writing and creative attitude for expressing verbal and written communicationsPhysical Demands / Work Environment Several hours per day at a sit/stand desk, average mobility to move around an office environment; able to spend several hours per day at a computer; travel to various locations throughout Michigan. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required. May require on-call availability and may require working during non-business hours and on weekends.
