Housing Resource Specialist Position: Housing Resource SpecialistEstablished in 1992, Capital Area Housing Partnership (CAHP) remains a growing non-profit community development agency providing affordable housing, education, and neighborhood services for mid-Michigan residents.   • Remote At-Home Work (Average 32-hours per week)Position Type: Housing Resource Specialist - Temporary (September 2021 - September 2022)Position Funding & Benefits:
    • $18.00 - $22.00 per hour - 40 hours per week. Based on experience.

    • Coronavirus Emergency Relief AssistanceReports to: Resource ManagerPurpose of Role:
      • Serve as a frontline team member to our emergency COVID pandemic response program.
      • Assist in the development and delivery of rent, mortgage, and utility assistance programs to mid-Michigan community.Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
        • Assist program staff in administrative duties including client files, office contracts, and program reports for the COVID Pandemic Response Program.
        • Provide support in the delivery of housing resource and financial assistance within the COVID Pandemic Response Program.
        • Respond to questions and requests for information, including answering of phones and managing client communication.
        • Complete and submit program billing and reports as assigned by Executive Director and Program Manager.
        • Assist with the active collection of input from the communities we serve in the design, development, and growth of existing, and new housing/service opportunities.
        • As directed, conduct a screening via telephone or in person for individuals in housing crisis, facing eviction or behind on rent and utilities.
        • Assess the caller's needs and eligibility for the CERA program to provide appropriate assistance, referrals, and resources.
        • Assist potential program participants in completing applications for appropriate programs.
        • Enter details of the call, communication with tenants, landlords or other partners in the appropriate record/file, required secure database, forms, trackers, etc. as directed per workflow.
        • Schedule follow up appointments as appropriate to provide ongoing assistance and case management services for eligible individuals, as guidelines allow.
        • Process financial assistance requests for eligible individuals for payment of rent, utilities, or other items.
        • Participate in team meetings, department meetings, all staff meetings, 1:1 check ins with supervisory as scheduled.Required Position Skills:
          • Proficiency in Office 365 including (Word, Outlook E-Mail, Excel and Adobe PDF).
          • Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
          • 1 - 2 years minimum administrative office work setting preferred.
          • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication styles to suit different audiences.
          • Ability to analyze and revise practices to improve efficiency.
          • Reliable and secure internet service at employee home location.
          • Established personal ethics of dependability, punctuality, productivity, self-discipline, and organizational habits.
          • Ability to work independently, demonstrating self-motivation while functioning as a member of a team environment.
          • Customer Service and case management skill set demonstrating empathy, communication skills, problem solving, active listening, personal responsibility, adaptability, attentiveness, responsiveness, time management and attention to identify details and adjust solutions accordingly.
          • Documentation of client/tenant case details, documents, and notes on a thorough and timely basis.
          • Collaborative member of team; active participation in team, department and CAHP meetings, training, and other required events.
          • Timely completion of weekly time sheets, expense reports if necessary and other required documentation.
          • Ability to follow program guidelines and program parameters, while demonstrating flexibility to adapt to changes and deadlines.Posting available until position is filled.Job Types: Full-time, TemporaryPay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits:
