Republic Services, Inc., a leader in the non-hazardous solid waste and recycling industry, is seeking a dedicated CDL Driver to join our team of professional drivers known for our iconic blue trucks. This position provides a critical service by ensuring the safe and efficient collection and transport of waste and recyclables, contributing to the health and sanitation of our communities. This role is not just about driving; it's about making a daily impact on the environment and participating in our commitment to sustainability and cleanliness. Operate heavy-duty trucks for residential and commercial routes to collect waste and recycling materials following a designated route and time schedule. Perform pre- and post-trip inspection of vehicles, ensuring safety and operational standards are met. Dump contents at designated recycling facility or landfill sites. Interact professionally with customers and the public on a daily basis. Adhere to company policies and lawful regulations regarding waste transportation. Participate in routine maintenance and inform management of any necessary repairs. Ability to operate heavy vehicles safely and efficiently. Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interactions. Physical stamina and dexterity needed to maneuver heavy items and operate vehicle controls. Knowledge of area roads and routes. Time management skills to maintain scheduled routes and timelines.
