Job Description:

Coverage Needed

• Schedule: 24 hour call shifts (7am - 7am)
  • For primary call - provider does not leave the floor and must stay at the hospital for the entire 24-hour shift
  • For secondary call - the provider can take call from the hotel but must check in every morning at 7am
• Proctoring/Orientation:
  • Proctoring for OB/GYN is completed as cases/deliveries come to the facility due to the unpredictability of the specialty
  • Proctoring Requirements: 2 vaginal deliveries, 2 C-Section deliveries, 2 minor Gyn procedures, and 2 major Gyn procedures
  • One business day for Orientation

Clinical Details

• Inpatient Only
• Primary Call: Labor & Delivery mainly and circumcisions; Call rooms available
• Secondary Call: D&C, Emergency Gyn surgeries. ED coverage, Read NST's, Tubal Ligations, Laparoscopy, and L&D and circumcisions as needed
• Circumcision comfortability preferred
  • Internal providers can cover circumcisions if needed
• Support Staff: 3 PA's, Midwives on L&D floor every night from 7p-7a for additional coverage
  • Midwives do not require supervision; provider is only called by them if needed
• EMR: EPIC/Dragon

Requirements

• Completed a residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology approved by ACGME or AOA
• Current or previous Board Certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology/American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology or the equivalent board in another country, with is recognized by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency or fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible for Medical Staff appointment
• Fetal Heart Monitoring
• ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Case Logs: Case/patient logs to show 50 deliveries and 25 GYN procedures within 12 months
• Will consider IMLC but MI license preferred
