Job Description:
WDIV/ClickOnDetroit, the Graham Media owned NBC affiliate, is
searching for a Creative Services Director. Come join the Station
of the Year nine years running where our brands have the largest
audience in our local community, and we broadcast all the big local
events. Our next Creative Services Director will drive all creative
efforts while aligning creative execution with brand strategy for
all platforms blending both traditional and modern marketing
approaches for audience development using all available tools and
platforms. Very simply, the Creative Services Director is
accountable for developing and executing strategic and tactical
plans in collaboration with the station General Manager, News
Department, Sales Team, Promotions Team, and Local Programming from
the conceptual phase through actual implementation. We are looking
for a Creative Services Director to develop, mentor, and inspire
their team while fostering a fun, energetic, and fulfilling work
environment. Responsibilities: LEADERSHIP: Provide direction and
inspiration to Promotion team members in a manner that achieves the
projects strategic business goals and metrics Effectively
communicate creative and brand direction across all channels and
platforms MANAGEMENT: The ability to inspire, align, and deploy the
right mix of internal or external talent to develop, implement, and
optimize campaigns and programs that delight and differentiate
Manage internal team development with effective coaching, while
fostering leadership through team spirit and leading by example
COLLABORATION: Innate desire and skill for building deep trusted
relationships/partnerships and work effectively across internal
teams Confidently resolve internal/external challenges that weaken
relationships or inhibit collective success GENERAL DUTIES: Oversee
the brand image strategy for WDIV and its execution on air and
online Manage the Promotions professionals Develop promotional
strategic plans and campaigns for News and local/network
programming Develop and implement a winning promotional social
media strategy Collaborate with Sales department to create content
solutions for clients Manage production and outside media budgets
Assist in the crafting of internal and external station and
corporate communications Act as a true collaborator and mentor
within the creative and promotions departments as well as other
disciplines Participate in outreach to community organizations
about station programming and initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or other
related field is preferred Minimum 4 years of managerial level
experience in a promotions or creative services department Proven
track record for development of successful strategic marketing
campaigns Concrete understanding of latest digital technology and
social media applications Ability to lead a team of creatives and
achieve measurable objectives and team growth Ability to work in a
fast-paced environment calmly and manage deadline pressures To
