Working/Functional TitleDirector of Creative MediaPosition SummaryMichigan State Football is seeking candidates for the Director of Football Creative Media position to help drive the Spartan brand and fan experience to new levels.The Director of Football Creative Media will oversee the football creative media department currently consisting of two full-time staff (Director of Creative Video and Director of Social Media / Still Photography) and eight seasonal creative content students. The role of the Director of Football Creative Media is to oversee the direction of creative content design and strategy while acting as the lead graphic designer within the football creative department. This position will work closely in collaboration with Spartan Vision as it relates to the overall athletic department creative content strategy. This position reports directly to the General Manager / Executive Director of Player Personnel and Recruiting in Football with a dotted line to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Strategic Initiatives and Brand Innovation.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Craft and execute football's creative media strategy, concepts and ideas, including overseeing the areas of creative video and social media
  • Oversight of the football creative media department
  • Create and execute creative, trend setting ideas and concepts for the football program
  • Create graphics following the brand standard guidelines of the department and inline with the content strategy for the football program
  • Assist the Director of Social Media in translating creative content for Michigan State Football's social media channels
  • Help build our creative unit and assets through working with students and full-time staff
  • Collaborate with multiple internal partners such as spartan vision, marketing, sales, communications and event management
  • Continue to define the strategy and goals in order to achieve success in engaging fans and moving the Michigan State Athletics brand forward, by bringing energy to the creative process

    • A bachelor's degree
    • At least two years of college or professional sports experience
    • Experience editing and working with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.)
    • Well versed in taking a project from conception to completion
    • Ability to work some nights, weekends and holidays (non-standard work schedule)
    • Independent self-starter who strives to be the best and grow in all aspects of their job
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with ability to interact professionally with employees, students, student-athletes and fans
    • Social Media literate
    • Team-oriented individual with strong interpersonal communication skills
    • Highly motivated individual ready to lead projects
    • Experience overseeing a creative content team. -
    • Skilled in the art of Graphic Design.
    • Able to manage multiple tasks with ease.
    • Experience with building brands through digital content.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
