Working/Functional TitleAssociate Director-Palmer Career Management CenterPosition SummaryThe Associate Director, Palmer Career Management Center designs, coordinates and delivers career development programming and coursework for MBAs (Full Time & Executive) and specialty masters' program students. Examples include instruction of an MBA career course, in-person workshops and virtual content. Related to the course instruction is the supervision and hiring of graduate student assistants. The Associate Director, Palmer Career Management Center also conducts individual advising appointments with students from all degree programs at Broad.--The Executive MBA (EMBA) program is located at two campuses in Michigan (East Lansing, Troy) and holds classes Friday evenings and Saturdays. Regular travel between these locations outside of normal business hours is required approximately twice per month. The position is based out of East Lansing, but consideration will be given to alternative locationsUnit Specific Education/Experience/SkillsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a Master's degree, and one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience related to the area of employment; or knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a Bachelor's degree, and three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience developing career programs and activities; advising individuals and groups in a variety of settings; public speaking; writing and editing for mass distribution; working in a team environment; use of internet, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Desired QualificationsMaster's degree in Business, Higher Education, Psychology or related field. Five or more years of experience recruiting or counseling business professionals, especially MBAs. Demonstrated experience developing and effectively delivering high quality presentations or coursework. Proven ability to multi-task, balance complex work requirements and work in teams.
