Position: Senior Data EngineerOur client is privately held organization in the financial industry located in the East Lansing, MI area.   Responsibilities:
  
  • 
    
  • Responsible for the conception, design, development and deployment of data architecture and data models
    
  • Work together with various business units to develop data warehouse platform vision, strategy, and roadmap
    
  • Responsible for the development of physical and logical data models
    
  • Ensure high-performance access to diverse data sources
    
  • Enforce architectural constraints and reject designs which compromise system integrity
    
    Preferred Experience:
    
    • 
      
    • 3+ years experience in Data Architecture design and development.
      
    • Experience designing a SQL Data Warehouse including structure of how data is stored and pulled back.
      
    • Proficient with SQL Server Database and tools SSMS, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS.
      
    • Experienced with data warehousing, schema design, data pipeline development, orchestration, monitoring, and ETL processing.
      
    • Understanding of dimensional modeling, tabular modeling and other warehousing modeling techniques.
      
    • Ability to write Select statements.
      
    • Understanding of Microsoft set of tools.
      
      Bonus Experience:
      
      • 
        
      • DevOps Background with automation of processes.
        
      • Understands the benefits and consequences of storing data one way over another.
        
      • Experience with Git, JIRA, or Power BI.
        
      • Experience or ability to mentor others.
