Working/Functional TitleAst/Asc Professor, Director of Preclinical Skills EducationPosition SummaryMichigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks an experienced clinician with a commitment to medical education to serve as the Director of Preclinical Skills Education.--This position will provide administrative and academic oversight to longitudinal development of bedside skills in the Preclerkship portion of the curriculum.--The Director of Preclinical Skills Education will serve within the Division of Medical Education as a fixed-term faculty member with the academic rank of assistant or associate professor. The position will report to the Associate Dean for Medical Education.--Primary duties will be academic, including curriculum development and instruction, with an option for maintaining part-time clinical duties (up to 20%).Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead innovation in the clinical skills (OPC) curriculum to better prepare DO students for success in the clinical clerkship and beyond.--
• Provide administrative oversight to clinical skills course series in collaboration with course coordinators to deliver the clinical skills curriculum, including instruction in lecture and small group settings.
• Work with other MSU and affiliated health professions programs to enhance and deploy an integrated interprofessional education curriculum.
• Integrate clinical instruction with basic science and systems content and with longitudinal threads related to professionalism, communication, systems-based practice, prevention, ethics, and lifelong learning.
• Assist with tracking and reporting of compliance with accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with the Director of Clerkship Curriculum to develop methods to assess and track student outcomes across the four year DO curriculum and evaluate outcomes of preclerkship clinical instruction.
