Fertilizing Technician / Lawn Care Applicator Tender Lawn Care – Kentwood, MI Pay: $23–$26 per hour Tender Lawn Care is hiring a skilled Fertilizing Technician / Lawn Care Applicator in Kentwood, Michigan . This full-time position is ideal for an experienced turfgrass professional with pesticide application knowledge, strong route management skills, and a customer-first mindset. Compensation: $23–$26 per hour , based on experience Overtime available Advancement opportunities within a growing company Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Occasional Saturdays and required overtime Benefits: Health Insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid holidays Paid training and professional development High-quality company uniforms Company-sponsored events Supportive leadership team New headquarters with expanded space and amenities Well-maintained commercial equipment and vehicles Key Responsibilities: As a Fertilizing Technician, you will: Prepare daily route by loading fertilizer, chemicals, equipment, and fuel Perform fertilizer, weed control, and pesticide applications on residential and commercial properties Deliver services across an assigned lawn care route Calibrate and operate sprayers and application equipment properly Identify turf issues including weeds, pests, and diseases Accurately complete required documentation and time tracking Maintain trucks, trailers, and application equipment in safe working condition Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues Ensure safe chemical handling and compliance with state regulations Identify opportunities for additional services and report to management Qualifications: Valid driver’s license Ability to safely operate a truck with trailer (including gooseneck configurations) Strong written and verbal communication skills Professional attitude with customer-first approach Ability to work independently and manage route schedule Strong turfgrass knowledge Ability to identify weeds, pests, and lawn diseases Experience with proper equipment calibration and product application Preferred: Valid Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (MDARD) Categories 3A, 3B, 6, and 7F Physical Requirements: Lift 50 pounds regularly Operate sprayers and equipment for extended periods Frequent bending, lifting, walking, and standing Work outdoors in all weather conditions Exposure to fertilizers, pesticides, and loud machinery About Tender Lawn Care Family-owned and operated since 1949, Tender Lawn Care provides professional landscape management and snow removal services to residential and commercial clients throughout West Michigan.
