Job Purpose:
Responsible for the accounting/reporting of investments, preparing
all quarterly and year end statutory fillings (Schedule D, Schedule
BA, etc.) and research on new investments and changing accounting
guidance. Responsible for reviewing and analyzing investment
activity and providing management with details of significant
transactions. Also, assist the accounting team with other projects
and monthly and year end closing responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Posting and reconciliation of the investment portfolio activity
each month.
+ Ensuring that the income statement and balance sheet are recorded
accurately and timely.
+ Prepare annual and quarterly investment schedules for the STAT
and IFRS financial statements, including Notes and Interrogatories
disclosures for the financial statements.
+ Review and analyze the investment activity and provide management
with details of significant transactions.
+ Prepare standard monthly and quarterly investment reports for
management.
+ Complete investment related data requests for the yearly audit,
tax department and support.
+ Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements.
+ Ensuring compliance of closing and reporting with internal and
external requirements (capital management).
Job Requirements:
+ Ensure implementation and compliance with the local, state and
federal reporting requirements;
+ Knowledge of the local adaptation of the group accounting
policies, standards and processes;
+ Ability to interact with tax authorities;
+ Manage closing and reporting process in line with relevant
internal and external requirements;
+ Strong financial analysis skills and problem solving skills;
+ Relevant insurance accounting experience, including knowledge of
US Statutory and GAAP accounting principles;
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office products;
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
+ Ability to prioritize responsibilities and processes;
+ Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
